Our Goals
  • To raise awareness of the atrocities occurring in Darfur.
  • To provide students a fun and exciting dance that they will never forget.
  • To raise at least $1 for every life lost as a result of systematic violence in Darfur.  Thus, if an estimated 400,000 people have been killed thus far, together we must raise at least $400,000!
  • Encourage policy-makers to do something about what is taking place in Darfur. The genocide has gone on for too long!

History
Dancing for Darfur was founded September 2006. The immediate response has been overwhelming. The idea started as a small dance, but due to community interest, it has grown into a massive gala encompassing high school students from schools across the nation.  We hope that Charlotte, North Carolina's Dance for Darfur, set to take place on March 10, 2007, will inspire students around the world to organize their own Dances for Darfur.  Together, let's start Dancing for Darfur!
